Born of Fresh Water
Rask means fast in Norwegian. Meridian is the line on a map that tells you where you are. Rask Meridian is built for the Great Lakes. Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, and the places in between.
We write about running in this region, and we carry the gear you’ll want. The Current is where the writing lives. It runs three kinds of pieces: Field Notes from adventures and races in this region, Gear writing on the objects worth owning, and Off Course on the books, music, food, and ideas that fill the time between runs.
The shop is where you can grab that gear. Starting with a singlet from Janji. More to come, slowly, from the brands worth carrying.
We are betting on the people and cities around these lakes. This is one of the largest running geographies in North America and it barely shows up anywhere running gets sold or written about. The lakefronts. The re-imagined rail trails. The forests. The industrial waterfronts. Millions of runners live here. No one has told those stories.
We are now.
Born of fresh water.
