We Had to Start with a Singlet
Wilma Rudolph in Rome. Billy Mills in Tokyo. The announcer shouting “Look at Mills! Look at Mills!” inspired a generation of runners. The greatest moments in distance running happened in singlets. It is the simplest piece of running gear there is. No carbon plate. No pockets. If done right you barely notice it. But it announces something: It's finally warm enough. There's a race today. The training block is over and the work is about to be seen. A small act of rebellion against winter.
That's why we started here. The first product we carry is the Janji Run All Day Tank.
The Run All Day is built to go from late spring to the humidity of summer. Light enough that you forget you have it on. Sturdy enough to carry a bib. The seams lie flat against the skin. The fit is slightly relaxed. No chafing. The fabric breathes and dries fast. It doesn't cling when you've soaked through it on mile 14 of 16 on the lakefront in July.
Janji means promise in Malay. The brand was founded in 2012 on a promise of clean water. Two college runners on a bus ride, hydrating for a hot 10k, thinking about who had water and who didn't. The promise has carried for thirteen years and over a million dollars donated to clean water projects around the world. The right people to start with.
